Trinket for Educators
Teach coding in the browser. Free for every school, with nothing to install.
Set up your school
Create an organization for your school. Add teachers by username or email, and make some of them admins. Put students in groups, one per class, and give each group its teacher.
Zero-data student logins
Make student logins in bulk. Trinket generates each username and password, so students need no email address and no real name. Hand out the list in class. If a student forgets their password, a teacher resets it from the organization page. See how we handle student data on our data privacy page.
Courses and assignments
- Build a course of lessons, each with pages of text and runnable code.
- Turn any page into an assignment, with starter code if you want it.
- Review each student's work, write feedback, and send back your own edited copy of their code.
- Choose whether a student can resubmit after your feedback.
Sharing
- Class codes. Each course can have a join link,
/courses/join/{code}. Students need a Trinket login to join. - Share links. Share any trinket with a link. Anyone can open it and run it, no login needed.
- Embed. Use Share → Embed to get an iframe for your LMS, Google Sites, or any web page. Choose to show the code and result side by side, toggle between them, or show only the result, and whether it runs on load.

FAQ
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Trinket is open source and community-hosted by Strive Math, and every feature is free for everyone.
Does my data move over from trinket.io?
Not on its own. Use Import from trinket.io to bring over your trinkets and courses from your trinket.io export zip. Students make new logins here.
